Luth Athletic Complex

The centerpiece of athletics success at Holy Cross, the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex serves the championship dreams of current and future Crusader student-athletes. The Luth Athletic Complex enhances the experience of all Crusaders, providing them with the tools and facilities they need to maximize their potential and become their best selves.

The Hart Center Arena serves as the home for the Holy Cross men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball teams. In the fall of 2016, the arena was renovated with a new state-of-the-art Robbins Bio-Channel Star Flooring System, and new retractable bleachers for the entire lower bowl. In addition, a Schelde Sports basket system was installed, which is currently used in over 100 countries around the world. Other upgrades within the arena included a new Bose sound system, refinished ceilings and new banners. New locker rooms, film rooms and coaches offices have also been added. Most recently, a new scoreboard was raised in 2019.

Over the years, the Hart Center Rink has been a model of excellence for other rinks to emulate. The rink has set the stage for battles against the likes of Boston College, Maine, Merrimack, UMass and Notre Dame. In 1999 and 2002, the Hart Center Rink was the venue selected to host the MAAC championship, while in 2006 it played host to the Atlantic Hockey championship.

The pool contains dual wave turbulent lane lines which are the standard 25-yard collegiate length. A movable bulkhead can be adjusted to a length of either 25 yards or 25 meters. The pool also features a Colorado timing system which provides an electronic readout for all six lanes. A separate diving well contains two one-meter boards and one three-meter board. All three boards are Duraflex, wafer diving boards. A trampoline and harness system is available on deck for diver training.

The Crusader men's and women's rowing team enjoys the advantage of being able to practice indoors year round, thanks to the rowing tanks located inside the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.

One of just four facilities of its kind in New England and directly accessible from inside the Luth Athletic Complex, the Indoor Practice Facility includes 100 yards of turf, batting cages, and running lanes. The 64,000-square foot Indoor Practice Facility provides a state-of-the-art training space for all 27 programs to utilize throughout the year.
