Candler Library

Directly across the Quad from the Administration Building is one of the most photogenic spots on campus. The Candler Library is home to the Departments of Classics, Human Health, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Additionally, the Matheson Reading Room is in Candler, which is connected to the Woodruff Library through a sky bridge.

⭐ Asa Griggs Candler

The Candler Library is named for Asa Candler, founder of The Coca-Cola Company and one of Emory’s earliest benefactors.

⭐ Office of International and Summer Programs (OISP)

OISP offers around 120 study abroad programs in more than 40 countries. Students can spend a summer, semester, or a full academic year abroad, and about 40 percent of Emory seniors have an international educational experience by the time they graduate.

⭐ The Matheson Reading Room

The Matheson Reading Room is the quietest place to study on campus. It features a variety of learning environments, and is often quite popular to avoid the busyness that you might find inside the Woodruff Library or Emory Student Center.

⭐ Library Skybridge

Connecting the Woodruff Library and the Matheson Reading Room is a marble sky bridge that sits above one of most popular walkways at the top of the Quad. The sky bridge has a lot of tables and desks that students can use for studying, and it’s a great photo spot for the many beautiful Atlanta sunsets you’ll see here.
