Stables and Pasture
The Knowlton Center sits on over 110 acres of land. The property has large turnout pastures with run in sheds for the horses housed at the equine center. Throughout the winter months, horses are able to enjoy all weather paddocks. Beyond the expansive turnout opportunities, the abundance of land offers ample opportunities for hacking and hand grazing. Otterbein is also proud of the integrated use the Knowlton Center has to offer other members of campus. Sustainability majors, biology majors, and other campus groups enjoy the opportunity to take the classroom outside and utilize the space the Knowlton Center has to offer.

⭐ About the Stable and Pastures
Ample turnout is vital in good horse management. The Knowlton Center has 3 large fields with turnout sheds that allow for boarded horses and school horses to spend time outside. Additionally, smaller grass paddocks are available. One of the most unique aspects of pasture space is the 14 all-weather paddocks. These paddock spaces are utilized throughout the winter months and allow for turnout despite the cold Ohio winters. The turnout is managed by the Knowlton center staff.
