📜 A Historic Building with a Modern Purpose

Originally built in 1857, the Graduate School House has had a long and varied history. Over the years, it has been:

  • 🏡 A single-family residence reflecting Camden’s mid-19th-century growth
  • 🎩 A men’s clubhouse and gathering space
  • 🏠 A boarding house and apartment complex
  • 🏥 A medical office serving the local community

In 2005, it was integrated into Rutgers University–Camden and became the home of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, repurposed to serve graduate students as a place for study, collaboration, and community-building.
