🕰 Estatua de Richard T. Greener

La estatua de Richard T. Greener se encuentra entre la Biblioteca Thomas Cooper y el Centro de Salud y Bienestar. 
 
Richard T. Greener fue el primer profesor afroamericano de la Universidad de Carolina del Sur, cargo que ocupó entre 1873 y 1877. Greener fue el único profesor negro en una universidad del sur durante la Reconstrucción y pasarían décadas antes de que se nombrara a otro profesor negro en la UofSC. Después de dejar Carolina del Sur, Greener se desempeñó como decano de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Howard, como diplomático de los Estados Unidos en Vladivostok, Rusia, como secretario del Grant Memorial y trabajó en la práctica privada del derecho.
