The Quad

The Historic Quad is the jewel of the Bates campus. It is filled with towering oak and maple trees — perfect for setting up a slackline or hammock — and is crisscrossed with paths where students meet and greet one another. This open space is surrounded by many of Bates’ oldest buildings.
