Founded in 2006 by Hall of Fame jockey, Chris McCarron, the North American Racing Academy (NARA), now offered through BCTC Equine, is the first and only community college-based racehorse riding certificate in the United States.

There is a racing simulation in building A at our Leestown campus. However, most of these classes will take place at the North American Racing Academy off of Paris Pike in Lexington, KY.

The mission of the certificate is to provide students with the education, training and experience needed to become skilled in the art of riding a racehorse, proficient in the care and management of racehorses and knowledgeable about the workings of the racing industry as a whole.
