🎨 Art Studios

Converse provides everything students need to learn and practice concepts of art and design, including sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, and painting. From CAD labs to darkrooms to metal fabrication and more, students have access to the studio space they need to create and grow as artists.

⭐ Milliken Art Gallery

Featuring glass walls on two sides, Milliken Art Gallery provides an exhibit space with visual access to exhibitions around the clock. During much of the year, the gallery is filled with the work of a wide variety of professional artists. In addition to exhibiting, visiting artists present workshops and lectures that are often open to the public. In the spring, the gallery displays exhibits by Converse University students.

Converse’s Milliken Fine Arts Building provides everything students need to learn sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, and painting:

CAD and MAC computer labs
Large-format Epson Printers
Photography darkroom and digital printing
Dedicated painting and drawing studios
Ceramics spaces for both wheelwork and hand-building
Ceramics kiln yard for electric and gas firing
Student “mini gallery” for installation work
Sculpture wood shop and metal fabrication studio
Outdoor sculpture courtyard for large-scale work and blacksmithing
Senior student BFA studios
