The Center for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI) is a 100,000 sq. ft. facility designed to bring together students, experienced faculty and employer partners to develop a skilled workforce for the advanced manufacturing industry. CMI is an engaging environment that gives students the skills and training needed to succeed in advanced manufacturing through an innovative curriculum and project-based learning experiences on real-world projects.

👨💻 Core Programs
CMI is the training ground for several academic programs, including a Bachelor in Applied Science in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, CNC/Machine Tool Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Electricity and Electronics Engineering Technology.
🔬 Training Labs
CMI features numerous labs to provide students with an immersive learning experience through hands-on training using the latest equipment and technology. Combined with classroom instruction, the labs give students practical skills to prepare them for a career in advanced manufacturing.
Mechatronics Lab
This training lab features automated equipment, robotics, sensors and programmable controllers allowing students to learn how to design, operate and troubleshoot complex systems.
Machining Lab
Students learn precision machining techniques and tool operation through hands-on experience in operating and programing machines like lathes, mills and CNC equipment.
Metrology Lab
Students hone their skills using modern precision measuring instruments, learning how to use the equipment to ensure that every component meets the highest quality standards.
Pneumatics/Hydraulics Lab
This lab helps train students in fluid power systems, teaching them to operate and maintain pneumatic (compressed air) and hydraulic (pressurized fluid) systems.
Prototyping Lab
Students gain hands-on experience in designing, building and testing models using tools like 3D printers and laser cutters to create prototypes.

Several programs and courses are held at CMI. Offerings include short-term, skill-specific training in Mechatronics and CNC Machining, as well as professional development seminars and certificates in project management, Lean Six Sigma, human resources, leadership and more.
