Galesburg
One of the best things about Knox is that we’re right here, in the middle of downtown Galesburg. It’s a quintessential, Midwestern city of 33,000 that runs on collective ingenuity—for example, a Knox alumnus helped turn Seminary Street into an independent shopping district, with a natural foods store, a bakery, a theatre, and an antique mall.

Making the Community (and World) a Better Place
Through established partnerships and special programs, including our Day of Service, the Knox Prairie Community Kitchen, and the groundbreaking KnoxCorps program, which places current students and recent graduates in long-term positions with local and regional organizations.
Our Kleine Center for Community Service has received the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll award. That's not why we do the work, but it's nice to be recognized.
Considered a "Best Practice" within the state of Illinois, the Gale Scholars Program is a collaborative partnership between Knox, the local school district, and the area community college to encourage and support higher education aspirations and success for academically promising first-generation and income eligible youth within the community.
Knox has earned a spot on the Peace Corps' annual list of the top volunteer-producing colleges in the United States, thanks in part to the contemporary Peace Corps Preparatory Program, the first program of its kind in the nation.
