The University of Arizona is Arizona’s first university, established in 1885, which makes us the first public university in Arizona! We are located in Tucson in southern Arizona. Tucson is the 2nd largest city in Arizona with over half a million Tucsonans and a true college town! As the land grant institution for Arizona, we support the state when it comes to research, education, and opportunity.
The University of Arizona is a larger school with over 51,000 total students; just under 40,000 of which are undergraduate students. Among those that are here, we’re extremely proud of our inclusive excellence with over 49% of our students identifying as diverse and a first year class of about 9,000. Our student body is made up of 52% from Arizona and 48% from all 50 states and over 144 countries!
