Architecture Division

Focus on material experimentation, research, and alternative forms of creative practice in CCA’s professional Architecture degree program. The curriculum prepares you for rigorous design work, combining hands-on studios with coursework in design media, history and theory, and building technology. You’ll learn to apply advanced fabrication and design research skills to experiments at various scales, from material and form to complex urban projects. Tools for material exploration include a KUKA robotic arm in the Digital Craft Lab, 3D printers in the Hybrid Lab, milling machines, and CNC routers and laser cutters.

Our BFA in Interior Design focuses on sustainable material practices and spatial innovation. Students learn to design for various human environments, including the home, the workplace, and the public sphere. They approach the design of built environments with equal emphasis on spatial and technical conditions. You’ll gain technical skills in traditional and digital fabrication within our state-of-the-art facilities, experimenting with everything from textiles, glass, ceramics, wood, and metal to 3D printing and virtual and augmented reality. The most innovative, emerging, and sustainable materials are available at your fingertips in the Materials Library, which includes over 1,000 samples.
