Louisiana Scholar's College
Established in 1987, the Louisiana Scholarsā College serves as the stateās selective-admission honors college of the liberal arts and sciences. Its mission is to provide highly motivated students with a rigorous, customized honors education firmly grounded in the liberal arts and sciences.

Students may pursue a traditional major or an interdisciplinary concentration in Classical Studies; Fine and Performing Arts; Foreign Languages; Humanities and Social Thought; Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, or Scientific Inquiry.
The Scholarsā College offers small classes, a close-knit community, and supportive faculty who are committed to student success. Most of our classes are seminars in which ideas are exchanged in an open and supportive environment. There are also opportunities for internships, undergraduate research, and study abroad.

Admissions Criteria
To be admitted to the Louisiana Scholarsā College, you should meet these Admissions Criteria*:
1) ACT Composite of at least 25 with no sub-scores below 20, OR an SAT Composite of at least 1200 with no sub-scores below 500
2) Unweighted high school GPA of 3.3 or better on a 4.0 scale in the Louisiana Regentsā Curriculum or comparable curriculum.
3) Satisfactory evaluation by the Scholarsā College Admissions Committee based on the strength of high school program, recommendations, essay, interview, honors, and activities.
*Strong applicants who do not meet these criteria may be considered for provisional admission. All applications to the Louisiana Scholars College are evaluated by the Scholarsā College Admissions Committee.
