The Student Service Center is located in the center of campus - literally and figuratively - for all Northwestern State students. Designed as a one-stop for the majority of student needs including recruitment, student records, student fee payments, student housing and campus student life.

Your decision to apply to NSU is the first step on your journey to becoming a NSU Demon and an important part of our great university. Not only will you find yourself surrounded by some of the stateās best students, but youāll be learning from faculty who are dedicated to the art of teaching.
Admissions Criteria - First-Year Student
Louisiana high school graduates should meet the following criteria for Regular Admission to NSU:
1. Complete Regents' Core Curriculum (19 units)
2. Earn Minimum 2.35 Cumulative High School GPA
3. 18 or Higher ACT English Subscore (450 SAT, 68 COMPASS Writing) OR 19 or
Higher ACT Math Subscore (460 SAT, 40 COMPASS Algebra) OR ACCUPLACER 250+ in Writing and QRAS
4. High School Core GPA 2.00 or 20 ACT (940 SAT)

The Office of Financial Aid's mission is to find the best possible aid package for a diverse student body to enable each student the financial ability to achieve their educational goal. The office offers a wide variety of programs that are available from federal, state and institutional funds under the general headings of loans, grants, third party funds and work opportunities.

1) Apply for Admission
2) Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each year. NSU's school code is 002021
- Important: You must complete a FAFSA for each academic year you would like to receive aid. To increase your chances of being considered for programs with limited funds, complete and submit the FAFSA as soon after October 1 as possible and before May 1. Do not submit your FAFSA before October 1 or it will be rejected.
3) Complete the Title IV Authorization within myNSU (One Time Document)
The Priority Deadline for NSU is May 1st.
