⭐ International Programs
No matter where you're from, you are welcome at Doane University. The Office of International Programs will help you; meet with fellow international students, adjust to Doane’s campus, complete required paperwork for each term answer questions on immigration status, and more.
🍎 Elementary Education
Doane’s elementary education program prepares students to teach kindergarten through eighth-grade. A range of field experiences in your sophomore and junior years will help you decide which grade level you would most like to teach.
Students can also choose to be certified for pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade in art, music, physical education, and English as a Second Language to complete the elementary major requirements.
Students majoring in elementary education must also complete a major or endorsement in middle grades, early childhood, special education, English as a Second Language, Spanish, music, mathematics, science and/or physical education. A coaching endorsement may be added.

📚 Special Education
A special education major helps prepare you for teaching children and youth with mild or moderate mental handicaps, learning disabilities, or behavioral disorders. Teachers graduating from this program have certification for teaching kindergarten through 12th grade.

🍎 Physical Education
Students seeking certification for teaching in Physical Education must complete the Physical Education Major requirements among other classes. A second teaching major or endorsement is required when majoring in Physical Education.
⭐ Science for Teaching
The Science major is a broadly based bachelor of science degree program for students seeking a general education in science and the Science Field Endorsement.
This major meets the requirements for certification to teach biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science in grades 7-12.

⭐ Social Science for Teaching
A social science major allows you to teach any course within social studies subjects in any 7-12 school in Nebraska, as well as in most other states. The major, also a teaching endorsement, is comprised of courses including sociology, economics, political science, history, geography, and psychology.

The Doane University Ambassadors, comprised of sophomores, juniors, and seniors, not only provide tours but also escort guests across campus to various appointments with faculty and staff. Ambassadors develop and promote activities to encourage students to attend Doane and assist with numerous events for Doane, alumni and friends.
