Sweetheart Circle contains all the original buildings, many of which were residence halls, from when Georgia Southern was founded as First District A&M School in 1906.
At that time, the only place for males and females to mingle was on Sweetheart Circle.
The legend has it that if you walk around Sweetheart Circle three times with your "sweetheart" you are destined to be together forever.
Today, the buildings on Sweetheart Circle serve as University Administrative buildings.
