Nutrition courses at SPC introduce students to the six classes of nutrients: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water. Students discover food sources of the nutrients, digestion, absorption, metabolism, and transport of the nutrients, as well as relationships between nutrition and chronic disease!

Chemistry courses are required for many science majors as well as for most pre-professional majors at SPC. All of our Chemistry classes have a lecture and a lab component. You will gain a good knowledge of chemistry and be exposed to common lab practices.
