Thurston Hall is a first-year residence hall and GW icon. The building received a large-scale renovation prior to the 2022-2023 school year to focus on community and sustainability. It also opened with a LEED Gold rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Thurston Hall features a new GW Dining Hall in the basement. 16 study lounges are spread throughout the entire building, and residents also have access to a penthouse study lounge with gorgeous views of the Washington Monument. The central courtyard provides additional study spaces and hangout space for all students to enjoy. A hub desk in the lobby area is available to provide evening resources, supplies, and a contact point for residents.
