The Main Street district has seen a recent revitalization that has new businesses, locals and visitors flocking to it. The Nickelodeon
Founded in 1979 as South Carolina’s only non-profit arthouse cinema, the Nickelodeon for over forty years has played a critical role in the development and growth of the arts space in the region. From its beginnings as a one-screen theatre in a converted bank building, the Nickelodeon has served since 2012 as a major cultural anchor on Columbia’s blossoming Main Street, drawing over 70,000 attendees into the heart of our city annually.
