The Accessible Education Office (AEO) partners with College students with visible and invisible disabilities to identify barriers and implement plans for access. Through collaboration with the campus community, we foster an environment of equity and inclusion. AEO works in collaboration with Harvard faculty, students, and staff to create equitable educational experiences through the promotion of universal design in learning, reasonable accommodations in inaccessible environments, and the reframing of disability as a valued aspect of the human experience.
The Advising Programs Office (APO) oversees the advising systems for all students. In your first-year, your academic adviser will be either a member of the Board of First-year Advisers or your proctor. You will also have a Peer Advising Fellow (PAF) who is an upper-level student. Your Resident Dean of First-Year students will also be available to offer you advice. These advisers will support you in transitioning to college and will guide you in exploring your academic interests by connecting you to resources. For the remainder of your time, you’ll have access to concentration advisors, residential advisors, and resident deans.
The Academic Resource Center (ARC) at Harvard University supports the academic mission of Harvard College by helping create conditions that will enable all students to access the transformative power of a liberal arts and sciences education. Samples of services include academic coaching, accountability groups, group workshops on speed reading and studying effectively, and peer tutoring.
As a part of the Office for Gender Equity (OGE), SHARE (Sexual Harassment/Assault Resources & Education) provides confidential support and counseling to Harvard community members, including students, staff, faculty, and post-doc fellows who have been impacted by sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, and abusive relationships.
