Peters Hall

When you walk into Peters Hall, you'll find a grand wooden staircase leading up to many language and humanities classes. The Student Accessibility Services Office, Oberlin Shansi, and the Center for Student Success are on the main floors, but walk up the stairs to find the Cooper International Language Center, and finally you'll find the Observatory and Taylor Planetarium on the roof!

International Student Life

🌍 International Student Life

Oberlin welcomes international students from all continents (except Antarctica!) to its campus every year. Over 50 countries are represented on campus.

International Student Resource Center

The International Student Resource Center (ISRC) is the first stop for most of our international students. The staff offers help with visas and travel planning before international students arrive on campus. Throughout your four years at Oberlin, the ISRC will help you with developmental advising, which includes academic research opportunities, curricular and co-curricular initiatives, career readiness workshops, and more. Our international student community regularly puts on community building and cultural events like an Eid al-Fitr banquet, Natsu Matsuri, Asian Night Market, and Holi festival.

International Student Organizations

Like all Obies, international students find home in many different organizations around our campus. Student organizations that relate directly to international experiences include the International Students Organization, Pan Asian Committee, and African Students Association, among others. Representing around 12% of the student body, international students are a significant and highly valued community on campus and have a hand in many campus events and organizations!
