💪 Mental Health at Oberlin

Oberlin’s Student Health Center is located centrally on our campus in Dascomb Hall, one of our first-year dorms. Here you can receive medical attention if needed. In the same building, the Counseling Center provides free mental health resources to students. Oberlin students have access to individual counseling and crisis support, among other services.

🏋️ Athletics at Oberlin

We boast 21 varsity sports and additional club and intramural sports open to any and all Obies. Whether you want to join the national champions and All-Americans on our Track and Field team, or the 2019 national championship-winning Women and Trans Ultimate Frisbee team, all our student athletes are excited to welcome new students to campus.

Athletic Facilities

The Patricia ’63 & Merrill ’61 Shanks Health and Wellness Center, adjacent to the Jesse Philips Physical Education Center, encompasses 16,000 square feet of new space, plus a new 25 yard by 25 yard pool and Cooper Recreation Lane. The center is designed to encourage healthy connections between the body and mind as it features spaces that support both mental and physical activities and programs.

In Shanks, you can find a number of different spaces to be active, including yoga and dance studios; the Abeles Wellness room equipped with TRX bands, medicine balls, and dumbbells; our 25-foot climbing wall; the Kobbes Spin Room; or an updated cardio room and weight room.

Yeofit Classes

Our students, coaches, and community members teach and take YeoFit classes, offered to students free of cost. Anyone can drop in and take a class on cardio kickboxing, Vinyasa yoga, or nutrition among many others.
