Financial Accessibility at Oberlin
🔑 Financial Accessibility at Oberlin
Oberlin is committed to creating a climate that nurtures equitable opportunities and outcomes for all students.
College Access Partners
Oberlin works with organizations to provide significant scholarships to academically strong students from low-income backgrounds or of underrepresented identities.
Questbridge
Oberlin College has been partners with QuestBridge since 2006! The QuestBridge National College Match is a college and scholarship application process open to academically outstanding high school seniors from low-income families. Students selected for College Match Scholarships receive loan-free scholarships that cover the full cost of tuition, room, and board.
POSSE
Oberlin College also has been partners with POSSE since 2006. The Posse Scholars program helps traditionally overlooked students get first-rate educations by providing four-year, full-tuition scholarships and by also providing a support system.
The Posse process begins in the junior year of high school when students are nominated by their high school administrators or teachers for the program. After interviewing with both the program and the member school to which they have chosen to apply, 10 students are brought together to form each Posse group. They meet once a week to receive additional pre-collegiate training from Posse trainers, and also discuss issues such as race, gender, sexuality, and class, and the roles these might play in college.
In addition to working with these and other community partners, Oberlin meets 100% of demonstrated need of every admitted student.
