The $3.2 million grandstand at Memorial Stadium was dedicated shortly before Otterbein defeated cross-town rival Capital in football during that 2005 campaign, scoring on its last two possessions. The structure seats roughly 2,400 fans and features a press box, locker rooms, athletic training space and special “O Club” room located underneath used for a variety of functions.
Memorial Stadium underwent another $2 million renovation in the summer of 2014 to install a new turf field and surrounding track, featuring a Crossflex HP synthetic surface that replaced natural grass. The venue plays home to the football, soccer, lacrosse and track and field around the calendar.
Many standout moments have taken place inside this centerpiece venue, which has seen the Cards win Ohio Athletic Conference titles and host multiple events in the NCAA Championships. The “Cole Victory Bell” is positioned on the southwest corner and gets rung by Otterbein teams after each triumph.

🥁 Marching Band
The Cardinal Marching Band celebrates over 100 years of music and excitement, representing Otterbein University on and off campus. Comprised of students coming from nearly every major on campus, this ensemble has performed for campus athletic events, NFL football games, alumni and trustee events for Otterbein Presidents, tailgate parties for Ohio Governors and US Presidential candidates, Westerville block parties, and Honor Flights departing from John Glenn Columbus International Airport.
The Cardinal Marching Band is the most visible musical ensemble at Otterbein University, as well as being one of the largest and most active student groups. During the fall semester, the CMB performs at all home football games, maintains a presence in various campus activities, and travels to select high school festivals during the fall semester. ALL Otterbein students who specialize on a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument, as well as visual performers including color guard and twirlers, are encouraged to join.
During the winter months, members of the CMB can continue to perform with the “Mean Cardinal Machine” Pep Band, which appears at all men’s and women’s home basketball games from January through March. This ensemble has also appeared for special track and field events, as well as select home volleyball matches.
