Rike Center

The domed roof of the Rike Center encloses an intercollegiate hardwood floor with seating for just under 3,000 fans that have taken in memorable basketball, volleyball, wrestling and other special events over the years. The venue has played host to NCAA runs for men’s basketball (including a 2002 national championship season), multiple conference titles in volleyball and the resurrection of men’s wrestling.

The Rike Family of Dayton inaugurated the capital campaign to finance construction back in the 70’s and the facility has received modifications over 50 years since. A pair of floating hardwood courts, secured through a gift-in-kind by former NBA coach George Karl, were added to the back in 2014-15. Shortly thereafter, racquetball courts were removed (and repurposed) to create a brand-new wrestling practice space when Otterbein added the varsity sport in 2015.
