Athletics

Welcome to the “basketball capital of the world,” Gampel Pavilion. We earned the designation! Our men’s and women’s teams have racked up more than a dozen combined NCAA basketball championships and have smashed records, with multiple perfect women’s seasons and dual national titles in 2004 and 2014. Just beyond Gampel are state-of-the-art practice and training facilities for our student-athletes, the Werth Family UConn Basketball Champions Center and the Burton Family Football Complex and Mark R. Shenkman Training Center.

Traditions

Being a Husky means living the traditions: Rubbing Jonathan’s nose for good luck; indulging in One-Ton Sundae; sledding down Horsebarn Hill. It means coming together to celebrate who we are.
