Living on Campus

⭐ Living on Campus

UConn has among the highest percentages of students living on campus of any University in the nation, allowing students to build stronger relationships with their peers, professors, and UConn staff. 48% of first-year students choose a residential Learning Community, living alongside others who share a common interest or major. Whether in EcoHouse, La Comunidad Intelectual, and Scholars House, or the Nursing, Pharmacy, or Honors living/learning communities, you'll participate in activities and develop connections that will last a lifetime and broaden your worldview.

Dining

We take food seriously here. Whether we are winning awards for best vegan recipe, or being ranked as a top institution for gluten-free alternatives, you won’t go hungry at UConn. Our eight dining units, all of which you can — and should — sample, each have their own atmosphere and menu. Choose to eat in a smaller, more intimate spot or in a popular food court. Here’s the best part — students living on campus have unlimited access to the resident dining units during operating hours. We offer buffet-style meals seven days a week in our campus dining centers, which include a number of marketplace-style cafés. Dining facilities are located in or near each residence hall.

Arts & Culture

With three museums and five theaters right on campus, you’ll never have to look far to find a cultural experience. UConn has a wealth of arts activities designed to enrich and enliven participants and observers. We host a variety of productions including plays by the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, opera performances, comedy tours, lectures, and concerts, many at our Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts. National acts stop on campus year-round, and discount student tickets are always offered.
