Cathedral of Learning
Commissioned in 1921, the Cathedral of Learning is home to 30 nationality rooms representing cultures from around the world, the Chancellor's Office, Pitt Honors, and many classrooms. At 42 stories high, it is one of the tallest educational buildings in the world. It stands as a beacon of learning for the student body and surrounding community.

📚 Pitt Honors
The University of Pittsburgh has a distinguished Honors College (Pitt Honors). The mission of Pitt Honors is to meet the academic and extracurricular needs of the University’s most academically talented, intellectually curious, and socially conscious undergraduate students. Pitt Honors provides academic challenges, inspires individual effort, encourages self-discovery, and fosters a nurturing community. In order to graduate with the official Pitt Honors designation, each admitted student must complete a certain amount of programming with Pitt Honors. This may include taking honors courses, completing a research project, and engaging in co-curricular programs. It is also important to note that many Pitt Honors programs are open to the entire University population. For example, all students are allowed to apply for honors research fellowships and to enroll in honors courses, even if they are not official members.

The Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences constitutes the liberal arts core of the University of Pittsburgh, one of the major public research universities in the United States. We provide instruction in natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences for all students studying at the Pittsburgh campus, including more than 10,000 students registered as Dietrich School undergraduates.
