Pittsburgh

Downtown Pittsburgh is just three miles from campus. As a Pitt student you can use your ID to take a city bus anywhere within the city limits. Head to the Strip District for a taste of the many cultures that make Pittsburgh unique, to the North Side to catch a Pirates game, or to the South Side and ride the incline.

⭐ The City is our Campus

Pittsburgh is a city of neighborhoods. There are around 90 neighborhoods each having different aspects attributed to them. Cultural diversity can be found throughout these neighborhoods. To fund the Cathedral of Learning during the Great Depression, cultural organizations in Pittsburgh were asked to donate money to the creation of room that embodied their nationality. That is why there are now 30 Nationality Rooms displaying the numerous
cultures that call Pittsburgh home.

Also nicknamed the “City of Bridges”, Pittsburgh has 446 bridges and holds the world record for the most amount of bridges within city limits – beating out Venice, Italy. All of the bridges are painted in ‘Aztec Gold’ to match the city colors of black and yellow.
