Established in 1948 with a gift of $13.6 million from the Andrew W. Mellon Education and Charitable Trust, Pitt Public Health was the 13th accredited school of public health in the country. The school is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health and is a member of the Association of Schools and Public Health.
With seven outstanding departments, a distinguished faculty, innovative research centers and projects, and more than 7,000 alumni, Pitt Public Health is preparing the next generation of public health leaders and constantly addressing the world’s most pressing public health issues.
