High-impact experiences enhance what you're learning in the classroom and include research, internships and service learning opportunities. Binghamton can provide you with all them, and the offices to help you get involved are located here in the University Union.
By the way, the Admissions office is just around the corner. Take a minute to find your admissions counselor on our website.

Undergraduate Research Center
Want to develop a new idea, drive change or improve the world? The Undergraduate Research center can help you find hands-on experience in your field of study! Our students have the opportunity to participate in mentor-supported research starting their first year. There're research opportunities available in any major! We also host every year the Binghamton Research Days where students present their research in front of a panel.
Center for Civic Engagement (CCE)
Are you passionate about voting rights, social justice or volunteering? CCE provides students with service-learning experiences and helps our students connect with the local community. There are many volunteer opportunities in the Binghamton area including volunteering with youth in local schools. CCE also offers a for-credit course called Community-Engaged Learning.
Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development
It’s never too soon to start thinking and planning for your future career! Even first-year students visit our award-winning Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development for services including interview preparation, résumé workshops, career advising and international student employment assistance. The Fleishman team helps make our grads successful! Binghamton students are prepared to move on to the next step after graduation, whether that’s working at prestigious organizations throughout the country, attending top graduate and professional schools, starting their own businesses, or serving through organizations like the Peace Corps.
