Get something to eat

🍽️ Get something to eat

CCA is in the center of foodie paradise 🤌🤌🤌.  Everything you're craving—from food trucks and boba shops to hole-in-the-walls and even Michelin-star restaurants—is super close to campus. Below, students share some of their favorite places to catch up and fuel up.

Coffee and boba shops

College students and caffeine can’t live without each other. Luckily, there are about 20 coffee shops within walking distance to campus, including these locally owned options: Farley’s Coffeehouse, Philz Coffee, Linea Coffee Roasting + Cafe, and La Lucha Coffee Bar.

Guillermo Macías (BArch Architecture) says, “For a good cup of coffee, I like to head over to La Lucha, a tiny corner inside of Thee Parkside. They have the best Horchata Latte around!”

In the Bay Area, you’re likely to find a boba🧋shop on almost every street corner.  There are about a dozen different boba shops from the Mission District to the Dogpatch, but closest to our campus is Boba Guys, known for its iconic logo, premium quality drinks, and commitment to sustainability.

Ice cream shops

It’s never too cold for ice cream in San Francisco. There are almost as many ice cream shops as there are coffee shops. Cody Milne’s (BFA Illustration) top pick is Milkbomb Ice Cream: “I went there twice with friends after classes to unwind and we loved it. It’s not like other ice cream places since everything is handmade right there. While it can be a little pricey, it’s absolutely worth it for the original flavors they have and the nostalgic taste you get out of it.”

Another unique spot is SomiSomi Soft Serve and Tayaki, just a 10–15 minute walk from campus. Robin Parks (BFA Illustration) says, “They have the most unique ice cream options in the cutest tayaki cones! My personal favorite from them are their hot filled tayaki in custard and Nutella.”

Restaurants and “real” meals

When you’re not eating at CCA’s dining hall, Makers Cafe, you’ll still be eating well wherever you are 😋 From cheap eats to fine dining, San Francisco is a foodie’s dream destination and CCA is located in the center of it all.

Cassia Smith (BFA Graphic Design) says “SPARK Social is a great place to hang out with friends, especially when none of you can decide what you want to eat! Everyone can eat what they want and you have tons of options to choose from!”

Macías also raves about Wolfe’s Lunch, a tiny diner that is so close it’s ~ basically ~ on campus. “For a good, homemade bite, Wolfe’s Lunch has the tastiest breakfast options as well as a delicious steak sandwich! Form a good relationship with the family there, and they will always throw in a madeleine, a banana, or some miso soup with your order!”
