Get around
🚲️ Get around
Leave your car keys at home. San Francisco is a compact seven-by-seven mile city with endless ways to get around. Part of our commitment to sustainability includes giving every student a CCA Pass, allowing them unlimited rides on Muni, our city’s public transit.
⛔🚘 BTW, our campus does not have a parking lot and street parking around campus is metered and/or limited to one hour and four hour increments.
Muni
Muni is San Francisco’s main public transit operator. Hop on a bus, light rail train, streetcar or a classic ✨cable car ✨ to get anywhere you need to go within The City. Our campus is closest to the 19 Polk, 22 Fillmore, and 55 Dogpatch bus routes and the UCSF/Chase Center light rail stop.
Colin Chan (BFA Interaction Design) says, “North to South, East to West, I often hop on the Muni buses and trains to get around town or to travel to the wonderful spots in the city like the waterfront, Japantown and even to the beach!”
BART
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is the Bay Area’s a heavy-rail public transit system that connects all around the Bay Area. Our campus is 1.1 miles from 16th St. Mission and Civic Center BART stations. You can easily take the bus or Mission Bay shuttle from either location.
“I used BART to get from the East Bay to 16th St. Mission station which is only about 10-15 minutes away from campus. Even when I didn’t have class I’d take BART to any of the stops in SF because there’s so much to do in the city,” says Aristotle Elma (BFA Painting & Drawing), who commuted to campus for the first three years of his time at CCA.
Caltrain
Caltrain is our connector to Silicon Valley, providing rail service along the San Francisco Peninsula, through the South Bay to San Jose and Gilroy. Our campus is a short walking distance to the Caltrain station.
E-bikes and scooters
If cruising on two wheels is more of your thing, we got you covered. San Francisco has e-bikes and scooters all over the city for rent and on demand, including on our campus. In front of the Main Building, you’ll find a public bike share dock. Sidney Turner (BFA Film) says, “Since moving to the Bay Area, scooters have been my lifeline. It allows me to get anywhere in the city with ease. Also, it’s a very fun activity to do with friends—riding scooters and exploring the city. “
🚲 Bringing your own bike? We have a secure, indoor bike room where you can store your wheels.
Mission Bay Shuttle
CCA is also a stop on the Mission Bay Shuttle’s CCA/Adobe Route, which provides direct shuttle service from our neighborhood to downtown San Francisco during peak commute hours, Monday through Friday.
