Get out there

🏞️ Get out there

CCA students know that getting outside and being active is an important part of school/work/life balance. We have student clubs focused on athletic hobbies like basketball and rock climbing. There are plenty of gyms and fitness studios nearby, too. And one of the best parts of going outside when living in San Francisco? Almost every park has the sweetest views of The City 😍

Student sport orgs

Sports are just one way students like to build community and get active off campus. Students founded the clubs CCA Basketball and CCA Rock Climbing to foster collaboration outside of the classroom.

Batu Alpas (BFA Animation), founder of the CCA Basketball club says, “Our club actively encourages collaboration, considering it an integral aspect of the artistry that unfolds within the dynamics of sportsmanship.”

Gyms

CCA is a short walk or bus ride from many gyms and fitness studios, offering CrossFit, pilates, yoga, rock climbing, and rowing.

Rhea Haley (BFA Interaction Design) says, “I love Fitness SF because they offer group classes, personal training, and have so many locations. My favorite locations are SoMa, which is a 5 minute walk from campus where you can grab a protein smoothie 🥤at the gym cafe, or the Fillmore location to get some morning swim laps at the pool.“ Fitness SF also offers a special discount for CCA students! Learn more about the discount packages here.

Parks and community gardens

San Francisco is no concrete jungle. In fact, The City has more than 220 parks and open spaces. On a sunny day, you’ll find CCA students at Dolores Park, Crane Cove Park, or Jackson Playground.

“Dolores Park is pretty laid back—just a chill spot with green lawns, nice views and a relaxed vibe. Perfect for lazy hangouts with friends or solo downtime. It’s like a lowkey escape within the city hustle that is pretty close to school,” says Anhelina Rozum (BArch Architecture).
