Higgins University Center

The Higgins University Center (also known as the the UC) is the major hub for student activity on campus. The third floor offers meeting spaces and a home base for many of Clark’s nearly 140 student groups; the second floor contains the student mailroom as well as a performance and lecture hall; and the ground level comprises meeting rooms and the Information Desk, along with two distinct ways to dine: the Higgins Café (the main dining hall) and the Bistro. In the basement level, you’ll find the Craft Studio, a small performance venue, and the main mail room.

Food and Fun

🍿 Food and Fun

As the home of clubs and dining, the UC is a hub for student life.

Dining on Campus

There are four places to get a bite to eat on campus: the Higgins Cafe, our main dining hall; the Bistro, a casual dining hub; Jazzman's Cafe, a coffee and snack shop in the library Academic Commons; and the Den, a grab-and-go cafe in the Alumni Student and Engagement Center that proudly serves Starbucks coffee.

Dining Services works hard to make sure meals are nutritious, delicious, and made in service of student dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, kosher, and more). Keeping sustainability in mind, they source local and regional foods whenever possible, look for fair trade options, and use biodegradable paperware.

Clubs!

It’s easy to get involved in our community. We offer 140+ student clubs and organizations, in addition to leadership opportunities and intramural and club sports. Don’t see anything you like? Then create your own club!

A random sampling of clubs: Clark Model United Nations (ranked #9 in North America!), Clark Entrepreneurship Club, Clark University Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Black Student Union, ClarkUHillel, Clark Yoga, The Scarlet (student newspaper), Science-Fiction People of Clark (SPOC), Clark Bars a cappella group, Variant Dance Troupe, Pea Pod Squad improv troupe, Herban Gardeners, Clarkies on Wheels (COW), Clark Mock Trial, and Clarkies for Kindness.
