Radiation therapists are radiologic technologists who administer highly focused forms of radiation to treat cancer or other diseases. They also perform imaging examinations that are responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. With additional training and/or advanced degrees, a therapist has career opportunities in a variety of areas such as medical physics, dosimetry, and management. Opportunities also exist in the field of training and sales for major vendors of radiation therapy equipment.

Radiologic Technologists/Radiographers assist physicians specializing in the use of X-ray to diagnose disease and injury, exercise initiative and independent judgment in performing X-rays, operate X-ray equipment, provide patient care and radiation protection, produce and process radiographs, and maintain quality control.

They also may handle human resources work in a variety of other areas, such as employee relations, payroll and benefits, and training. In the concentration of Civil Construction, students will learn building, bridge, tunnel, harbor, airport, waterway, railway, highway, and dam construction!
