🧘‍♀️🚲 Fitness Classes

Various classes are offered daily such as Zumba, Yoga, Cycling, Self-defense, Toning classes, and Cardio Kickboxing classes.

🧗 Athletic Facilities

Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center is the hub for many recreational athletics. As a student you will have access to our basketball court, main gym, multipurpose court, rock climbing wall (3rd highest in the state), game room, and other free activity rooms.

The McDonald gym attached to the Recreational Center hosts our Women's Volleyball games as well as some of the Greek games for our Greek life organizations on campus.

⛹🏋️‍♀️🤾‍♂️ Equipment

The Recreational Center offers various equipment for students to check out such as: Basketballs, badminton, volleyballs, soccer balls, air hockey, pool. The way you can check the equipment out is by using your Cardinal One card.

The gym is fully equipped with updated equipment for students to utilize for all fitness goals.

The second floor of the Recreational Center also is fully equipped and includes an indoor track (10 laps equals 1 mile). You can also find the training station to become the NEXT American Ninja Warrior.

🎱🏓🎥 Entertainment

The Recreational Center houses many different forms of entertainment such as our media room where you can bring game consoles or watch any big sporting events on the big screen. You will also find a pool table, foosball table, air hockey and a shuffleboard.

You will also find our fitness studios where you can play a game of racquetball and Table tennis.

An outdoor activity hosted in the Recreational Center by Outdoor pursuits is s'mores once a week during the semester.

🏐 Intramural Sports

Intramural Sports provides students, faculty, and staff opportunities for recreation and competition in a variety of team and individual sports. The Intramural Sports program employs and trains student officials to oversee our many leagues and games. Officials, supervisors, and scorekeepers are an essential part of our program and provide a valuable service to the participants who take part in our activities.

The Student Health Center is committed to providing healthcare services that support Lamar University's mission of engaging and empowering you with skills and knowledge to thrive in life. Our services help you develop life skills to successfully navigate and use healthcare resources in society and beyond.

The goal of the Student Health Center is to give you a same-day appointment. If the volume of patients prevents this, you will be offered the first available opening that is appropriate for your visit.
