Education Building

The 72,000-square-foot Education Building hosts many of our classes and programs. We also use neighboring Forcina Hall. The coffee and egg sandwiches at the Education Building’s café bring the community together.

School of Education

⭐ School of Education

There is profound joy—and powerful opportunity—in connecting children with their own potential to learn and grow. Our work centers on educating teachers who are critical thinkers, studying issues and building curricula. These are the teachers who transform the world, as agents of positive social change.

School of Education

Founded in 1855 as the first teacher-training school in New Jersey and the ninth in the nation, the New Jersey State Normal School eventually became TCNJ in 1996.
TCNJ-educated teachers can be found in nearly every district in New Jersey.

Our teachers-in-training hit the ground running early in the Education Building's model classrooms. And we take STEM education to new heights thanks to a classroom with partially exposed structural and mechanical systems overhead.

Every spring, 100-plus school districts across New Jersey and beyond come to campus for Education Interview Days. More than 1,500 interviews are conducted with our graduating seniors.

Home to Career and Community Studies, the Center for Future Educators, the Center for Sensory and Complex Disabilities, the Dyslexia Initiative, and the Urban Teacher Academy, our School of Education is a leader in preparing students to work with special-needs students.
