Keigwin School of Nursing
The Keigwin School of Nursing Center for Healthcare Sciences houses our undergraduate Nursing students. It also houses our Simulation Training and Applied Research (STAR) Center which features a variety of manikins that simulate CPR, vital signs, heart sounds, lung sounds, abdominal sounds, EKG changes, arrhythmias, airway normal findings, dysfunction, and dysphagia.

Kinesiology
Kinesiology, the academic discipline that studies mechanics and psychology of movement, physical activity and its impact on health, society, and quality of life, nutrition, injury prevention. In recent years it has emerged as the undergraduate degree of choice for many students seeking careers in a variety of allied health/medical fields, as well as in more traditional areas such as fitness, health promotion, wellness, movement optimization and nutrition.
Health Sciences
Our Health Sciences degree, offered through the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences, allows students to create an individualized path to support their educational and career goals while providing a solid foundation for both graduate health programs and entry-level positions in healthcare. The flexibility of our program allows students to earn their degree in Health Sciences while also personalizing their education with different areas of focus, including minors from multiple fields of study across several of our distinct colleges.

Pre-Health
The Pre-Health program at JU can help connect you to internship and job shadowing opportunities at organizations like Mayo Clinic and local hospitals. Our faculty can help you identify and pursue valuable research projects and summer programs, including the National Science Foundation’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates. The Jacksonville University Pre-Professional Medical Society (JUMPS) provides professional development opportunities through guest speakers, workshops, and field trips. The Pre-Health program helps you take advantage of these valuable resources on campus and in our community.
Communication Sciences & Disorders
The Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders prepares a student to enter the work industry at a variety of levels including community and educational positions, including occupations that assist professions in speech-language pathology, audiology, education and other communication technology industries. Students will be prepared for transition into a graduate program in speech-language pathology. They will also encounter a strong foundation of science courses culminating with an internship experience in the health, rehabilitation or educational field(s).
Graduate degrees at the masters or doctoral level are necessary to work as speech-language pathologists or audiologists. These individuals work as professionals to assist people who have communication disorders; teachers, clinical supervisors and/or researchers in universities; administrators and leaders in healthcare or educational settings.

Healthcare Administration
The rapid growth of the healthcare field has led to a demand for qualified administrators who can apply business principles to healthcare administration and delivery of services. BBAs in Healthcare Administration have grown to meet this need, and students who pursue this major can expect strong job prospects upon graduation.
