Reid Medical Science Center and Reid Auditorium
The Reid Medical Science Center and Reid Auditorium house JU’s life sciences (biology) and pre-professional programs. The Medical Science Center has a hands-on lab classroom setting with labs primarily on the second floor and the Reid Auditorium is used for science and math lectures.

Biochemistry
The biochemistry track provides an excellent foundation for students planning to attend medical, dental, veterinary, or pharmacy school upon graduation. In addition, students completing this track are well suited for entry into professional or graduate schools for biochemistry or related biomedical fields. This track provides greater flexibility to a student who might want to earn a double major.
Biology
The Biology program at Jacksonville University is designed for students to gain a solid foundation in the biological sciences and the opportunity to tailor their interests in the fields of molecular and cellular biology, microbiology, ecology, or plant and animal biology.
Mathematics
At Jacksonville University, mathematics students know that mathematics is a tool for learning and understanding so much about the world we live in. Here, math is applied. Math goes beyond the numbers. Math is even fun! By participating in a national mathematical modeling contest and by publishing their own irreverent notes in the Math Madness newsletter, JU’s math students explore the most fascinating aspects of this complex field.
Marine Science
A Bachelor of Science in Marine Science emphasizes the multi-disciplined approach necessary to understand the marine environment. Using a diverse offering of marine science courses, the major includes a strong foundation in the elements of chemistry, physics, and physical science as well as life sciences. Students may focus their studies in one or more of these areas by careful selection of their elective courses.
Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry offers both a major and minor in Chemistry. The chemistry major at JU is designed to provide students with a strong, broad-based conceptual understanding of the fundamental principles of chemistry to foster effective, lifetime learning. The chemistry minor provides students pursuing another career in the sciences with a solid background in chemistry. These programs prepare students for careers or graduate studies in chemistry-based fields including education, engineering, environmental science, forensic laboratories, geology, industry, medicine, and regulatory agencies.
Data Science
The Data Science major is an interdisciplinary program that prepares students for a career as a data scientist in a variety of industries. The coursework provides students with a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and computer science as well as familiarity with all stages of data curation.
