🧑‍🔬 Department of Chemistry and Physics

The Department of Chemistry and Physics provides a cohesive and stimulating learning environment where students explore core concepts in the physical sciences. Small class sizes and an open-door policy enable faculty to establish personalized connections with students, promoting student-faculty research.

📝 Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology is based here, giving students the chance to work on faculty research projects, present at academic conferences, and even co-author publications. We focus on skill development and hands-on, real-world experiences to build employable skills and allow students to pursue their career and life goals. Psychology majors conduct stimulating research to plan, complete, and present a major project, cultivate the abilities to reason scientifically, exercise ethical responsibility, and collaborate with diverse populations.

🧬 Department of Biology

The Department of Biology emphasizes experiential learning through laboratory exercises, field experiences, and the opportunity to participate in biological research, internships, and cooperative education programs. The department offers a concentration in Molecular Cell Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy.

🌐 Information Management (IM)

Information Management (IM) is comprised of three areas—Information Operations, Information Support, and Information Security. IM oversees student, faculty, and staff access, providing technology leadership, expertise, solutions, and services such as instructional design, telecommunications, and multimedia services.

⚖️ Criminal Justice

The Department of Criminal Justice offers a balanced perspective on the study and  practices of the criminal justice system. Students learn from experienced faculty who  have worked as researchers, psychologists, attorneys, and law enforcement officials.
The department offers degrees in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and our unique
dual degree program with Social Work.

Pre-Law

Monmouth’s Pre-Law Club serves as the central information clearinghouse for all students interested in attending law school and learning more about the legal profession. The club meets regularly throughout the year and facilitates numerous law-related events, such as guest speakers, Monmouth alumni, and law student roundtables and visits from law school representatives. Meetings cover a range of topics, such as how to best prepare for law school.

🥼 Urban Coast Institute (UCI)

The Urban Coast Institute (UCI), located within the School of Science, is a Center of Distinction at Monmouth University. UCI serves as a forum for research, education, and collaborative efforts dedicated to the stewardship of coastal ecosystems. Students have unique opportunities to study significant environmental issues both on campus and at the beach, just one mile away.

🌊 Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy (MEBP)

The Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy (MEBP) program is designed for students passionate about nature and the environment, and seeking an immersive, hands-on undergraduate experience.
