Edison Hall is home to the School of Science and a center of advanced facilities including computer labs, wet labs, classrooms, and faculty offices. Here, students engage in state-of-the-art learning environments, participating in grant-funded projects and a broad selection of individual and team research opportunities offered year-round, and through the Summer Research Program. Edison Hall is also home to the Department of Criminal Justice and other programs like Homeland Security, Monmouth’s Urban Coast Institute, and the Information Management division.

The Department of Chemistry and Physics provides a cohesive and stimulating learning environment where students explore core concepts in the physical sciences. Small class sizes and an open-door policy enable faculty to establish personalized connections with students, promoting student-faculty research.

The Department of Biology emphasizes experiential learning through laboratory exercises, field experiences, and the opportunity to participate in biological research, internships, and cooperative education programs. The department offers a concentration in Molecular Cell Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy.
🌊 Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy (MEBP)
The Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy (MEBP) program is designed for students passionate about nature and the environment, and seeking an immersive, hands-on undergraduate experience. The multidisciplinary MEBP program builds a strong foundation in the sciences and equips students with the skills to address environmental issues and manage natural resources.

The Urban Coast Institute (UCI), located within the School of Science, is a Center of Distinction at Monmouth University. UCI serves as a forum for research, education, and collaborative efforts dedicated to the stewardship of coastal ecosystems. Students have unique opportunities to study significant environmental issues both on campus and at the beach, just one mile away.

Information Management (IM) is comprised of three areas—Information Operations, Information Support, and Information Security. IM oversees student, faculty, and staff access, providing technology leadership, expertise, solutions, and services such as instructional design, telecommunications, and multimedia services.

The Department of Criminal Justice offers a balanced perspective on the study and practices of the criminal justice system. Students learn from experienced faculty who have worked as researchers, psychologists, attorneys, and law enforcement officials.
