With high-tech production equipment and state-of-the-art lab spaces, Plangere is the campus hub for all things related to media and communication. Our students produce professional-quality television shows, radio broadcasts, and weekly newspapers in our fully functional studios. This academic building also features Mac labs, an interactive digital media space, virtual and augmented reality equipment—everything you need to get creative for your newest media project.

HawkTV
Get hands-on experience in areas like filming, directing, audio engineering, lighting, and set design in the Monty Television Studio on the ground floor of Plangere. With HawkTV, you and your crew can execute your creative vision—then watch it come to life on TV screens all over campus!
WMCX
The on-campus radio station located on the second floor lets you get behind the mic and share what you’re passionate about with the Monmouth community on 88.9 WMCX-FM. Our broadcasts transmit over a 35-mile radius and offer segments on today’s pop, 90’s R&B, Star Wars talk shows, Spanish-language broadcasts, and more.
The Outlook
Our national award-winning weekly newspaper, “The Outlook,” is produced by student writers, editors, and designers in the newsroom on the second floor of Plangere. With a large Mac lab and staff board room meeting space, our students are fully prepared to break the latest campus news story.

The Department of World Languages and Cultures offers study in languages such as Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Latin, and Irish, plus interdisciplinary courses in education, business, and global service. Students can also minor in Spanish, which is often combined with majors such as Business, Health Care, Education, and Social Work.
