Religion and Philosophy Division

🌟 Social Sciences Division

The Social Science Division prepares students to explore and examine humans and their social, psychological, and political relations and institutions. By bringing together the theory and research from these respective disciplines, students achieve a more comprehensive, complex, and integrated view of humanity.

Washington, D.C. Program Global Internship

This internship-based program offers you the opportunity to explore your professional goals and prepare for your career with a global mindset. Students of the DC Program have interned at the World Bank, the White House, the Department of State, MSNBC, the United Way Worldwide, the Smithsonian, the United Nations, US Chamber of Commerce and much, much more.

Pre-Law Emphasis

In combination with pre-law advising, the social science disciplines in particular prepare students for gaining admission to law school, excelling in legal studies, and, eventually, for the practice of law. All of the social sciences place a strong emphasis on critical reading skills, analyzing and evaluating what one has read, thinking clearly and logically, and expressing oneself clearly, both orally and in writing.

💫 Religion and Philosophy Division

This division seeks to lead students to a deeper understanding of philosophy and religion, particularly Christianity, with an emphasis on academic rigor and a spirit of genuine inquiry.

Seaver Core Religion Courses

All undergraduate students are required to participate in a series of three Religion courses that cover the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, the Jewish and Christian scriptures in context, and the interaction of Christianity with human culture and concerns.
