👮 Campus Blue Poles
At UNF, we take safety very seriously. You may have noticed blue poles scattered every few feet throughout campus.
- We have over 370 emergency phones mounted on blue poles, in elevators, or on walls.
- They connect directly to our University Police Department, or UPD, a fully accredited police department with 32 officers.
- You don’t have to be in an emergency to call our officers; they’ll escort you to your destination if you’re walking alone at night.
Our emergency hotline numbers are also listed on the back of every student's ID!
🚨 Campus Alert System
If there ever is an emergency on campus, you will receive a text and/or voice message and instructions via our Campus Alert System. This is a system only available to students, faculty and staff. Parents, although you cannot yet sign up for this service, you can check the University website and Facebook pages, the ONLY places we post official UNF news and information.
🚓 Safe Ospreys
We also have an ID program and safety programming to help remind us all of the ways we can stay safe on and off campus. Our Safe Ospreys app allows students, faculty and parents to receive emergency notifications, report a tip, share location with a friend and access a mobile blue light to calls UPD dispatchers.
