👮 Campus Blue Poles

At UNF, we take campus safety very seriously. You may have noticed blue poles scattered every few feet throughout campus.

We have hundreds of emergency phones mounted on blue poles, in elevators, or on walls.

They connect directly to our University Police Department — our UPD — which is a fully accredited police department with about 30 officers.

You don’t have to have an emergency to call our officers; they’ll escort you to your destination if you’re walking alone at night.

Our emergency hotline numbers are also listed on the back of student IDs.

🚨 Campus Alert System

If there ever is an emergency on campus, students, faculty and staff will receive a text and/or phone call and instructions via our Campus Alert System.

🚓 Safe Ospreys

We also have a downloadable app – the Safe Ospreys App – that anyone can download including parents, where you can activate these emergency notifications. Students, faculty and staff on campus can also use the app to access the mobile blue light and call UPD, report a tip, or share your location with a friend.
