🏊 RecWell

The Department of Recreation & Wellness (aka RecWell) offers a variety of activities and programs for students. RecWell includes: Aquatics, Fitness, Competitive Sports, Eco Adventure and Wellness.

Nature

UNF’s campus is nearly 1400 acres, and includes a nature preserve with five miles of hiking trails and lakes for canoeing and kayaking.

Our Eco Adventure program In Recreation and Wellness helps students enjoy the great outdoors and all the natural resources and amenities that our campus has to offer. Eco Adventure manages our trail system and also offers students included in tuition outdoor gear check-out – kayaks, paddleboards, backpacks, tents and more. There is a high ropes course for group and team challenges, and the program also organizes adventure excursions for students – whitewater rafting, trips to the mountains and more.

UNF wins awards all the time for being environmentally friendly. The Sierra Club, the oldest, largest environmental grassroots organization in the U.S., named UNF a “Cool Green School.”

Open Swim

The pool is open for student, faculty, and staff use and can be accessed through the Student Wellness Complex for open-rec swim hours, which are posted online.

Group Fitness Classes

The Group Fitness program offers the UNF community many fitness classes such as Zumba, Yoga, Spin, Meditation, Ab Attack, Booty Blast, and others.

Nutrition Services

The Registered Dietitians of the Nutrition services team on the first floor works with students to develop a personal diet plan for healthy living.
