✍️ Student Accessibility Center

The Student Accessibility Services (Building 57) provides academic accommodations and services to students with documented disabilities.

The Student Accessibility Center also offers two programs that support registered students. Access Academy focuses on academic strategies, organizational skills, and employability and THRIVE is a program that provides support for students with autism.

USoar is a program that aims to empower students with intellectual disabilities by fostering their academic, social, and professional growth in an inclusive and supportive environment in a 3-year, non-degree seeking track.

🧩 Hands-on Learning

The College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) emphasizes practical experiences for education students, who gain over 1,000 hours of hands-on classroom experience before graduation.

They earn an average of $5,000 more than other bachelor's degree graduates in the Florida State University System. Many of these programs provide financial incentives to students while completing their internship.

The college also offers advanced research programs at the master's and education doctorate levels.

Student Support

In addition to the teaching profession, COEHS provides programs like Student Accessibility Center and Learning Design and Technology to cater to various interests and career paths.

🤟 ASL/English Interpreting

COEHS offers unique programs such as the accredited American Sign Language/English Interpreting bachelor's degree, the only one in Florida.

🧏‍♀️ Deaf Education

We are also the only public Florida university with a Deaf Education degree, allowing students to work with the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind and complete distance internships.

📋 Sports Management Program

The Sport Management program at COEHS is ranked No. 4 in the nation. Students gain practical experience through partnerships with organizations like the Jacksonville Jaguars, SMT, PGA Tour, and more. They accumulate over 500 hours of field-based experience and complete a full-time internship in their final semester.

🎲 STEP Labs

The COEHS's STEP Lab supports STEM initiatives and serves as a playground for students, teachers, faculty, and community partners. It offers activities such as 3D printing, coding, robotics, and Lego building.
