Jubel Hall
Jubel Hall is one of eight buildings that form the McKelvey School of Engineering complex and is home to the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science. Jubel Hall offers professors and students over 15,000 square feet of research laboratory space that focuses on the interdisciplinary studies of medicine and health, energy and the environment, and security. You will also find the brand new Spartan Makerspace, which any WashU student is able to use with proper training, giving you access to 3D printers, laser cutters, power tools, and more!

As an engineering school within a larger University, the McKelvey School of Engineering promotes innovation and collaboration without boundaries, encouraging students look beyond the confines of engineering, through research and education, to make an impact locally and globally. With around 1,300 undergraduate students, class sizes remain small and allow for open dialogue and discussion between students, their peers, and faculty members.

Research
60% of McKelvey undergraduate students engage in research. With access to state-of-the-art facilities and a variety of research centers, such as the Center for Engineering MechanoBiology or the International Center for Energy, Environment and Sustainability, our students have the opportunity to work alongside faculty to face worldwide issues in the field of engineering.
Engineering Clubs & Organizations
EnCouncil, the School of Engineering’s student government, was voted #1 in the nation three times in recent years for governing body of an academic division.
EnCouncil hosts events, including the weekly “Cheap Lunch,” where students can get 2 slices of pizza, chips, a drink, and cookies for $3. Recruiters from companies like Belden, Strayos, Microsoft, AT&T, CapitalOne attend these lunches to network with students.
From groups like Design, Build, Fly, to ArchHack, to the Society of Women Engineers, McKelvey has an organization for everyone!
