The Underpass
The Underpass is the tunnel that connects the South 40 with the main Danforth campus. It is a popular place for student groups to paint murals on the wall panels to advertise for events they are putting on throughout the year or to recruit new members. It's a great place to walk through to see all of the cool things going on at WashU's campus at any given time.

Student Union
Student Union was created in the 1967-1968 school year when students were actively protesting the Vietnam War. Students were unhappy with the restrictions on their funds and with the limited power they had to allocate money for activities; the body, originally called the Student Assembly, began allocating money to student groups through the Office of Student Activities (now Campus Life).
Today, the Student Union funds over 380 student organizations and plans many events for students, including WILD, tailgates for sports home games, and speaker series.

Activities Fair
Each fall, the Activities Fair is held on Mudd Field to showcase the various types of student groups to be involved in on campus. During the fair, students can explore many of the 400+ student groups on campus that cover a variety of interests and skills, such as service, sports, affinity, performance, and sorority & fraternity life. All student groups are invited to staff a table on the field and encourage students to sign up to be involved in their groups. The Activities Fair is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and find avenues to join groups around a new or continued interest of yours!
