Performing Arts
🎭 Performing Arts
Almost two-thirds of WashU students will join a performance-based group. From our Performing Arts to our Music departments, and from our a cappella groups to our student run theatre, our students are able to discover new interests and continue to pursue their passions.
Dance
There are several options for students to join dance groups, whether they prefer a casual club or a more rigorous environment. Students can audition for several programs run by the Performing Arts Department, or they can join a student-run showcase. Dance performances are regularly held at the Edison Theater in the Mallinckrodt Center.
A Cappella
WashU is home to thirteen a cappella groups that cover a wide variety of musical styles. Our groups have released albums or gone on tour, and cover almost every musical genre - from Disney-exclusive, to songs by Jewish artists, or even American Folk classics. Read more about each of our unique groups on WUGO!
Theatre
The Performing Arts Department holds auditions for all productions in the beginning of the academic school year, and all students are encouraged to audition, regardless of their course of study.
